You can fill your snowglobe up with figurines of people, places, or scenery-whatever type of figurine is special to you!
What you will need:
- Baby food jars (medium or large jars)
- Florist clay
- Small figurines
- White glitter or fake snow (available at stores during the holiday season)
- Hot glue gun or aquarium sealing glue*
- Ribbon, optional
- Garland or plastic greenery
* Ask either of your parents to help out when you are using the glue gun. Who knows, maybe they will want to make their own snowglobe!
Directions:
- Make sure jar is washed and clean. Note: Any jar will do if you desire a larger snowglobe.
- Attach a figurine to the inside of the jar lid using the florist clay. If you using a small object, it's a good idea to build up the clay so the object will appear taller. Attach any additional items in the clay. Use your imagination, but make sure that whatever you put in there is waterproof so it doesn't dissolve.
- Fill the jar with water to within one-half an inch to the top. Use cold water because warm water tends to get cloudy.
- Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of glitter or fake snow into the jar.
- Insert figurine in the water and screw on the lid. Let the jar stand this way overnight (lid side up).
- Use the glue gun or aquarium sealer to ensure that your snowglobe is waterproof. Attach some decorative ribbon over the lid or paint your lid. Again, use your imagination, this is your snowglobe!
